Reed + Gwen is one of a small handful of health and beauty brands worldwide that are Climate Neutral Certified, an independent nonprofit working to drastically reduce carbon emissions by measuring a company’s impact. We’ve taken our commitment one step further by becoming carbon negative — offsetting more carbon emissions than our company generates. As a subsidiary of Avocado Green Brands, we measure our scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, then buy offsets to account for our entire carbon footprint.
Wind And Solar Powered
The fossil fuel industry is a major contributor to climate change. We believe investing in clean, renewable energy is one of the surest ways to reduce our planet’s increased warming. And we’re helping to drive awareness by powering our Los Angeles factory — where some of our products are assembled — with 100% solar and wind energy thanks to our partnership with Arcadia Power.
The Leaping Bunny Standard provides the best assurance that products are free of animal testing; it’s a voluntary pledge that cosmetic, personal care, and/or household product companies based in the US or Canada make to clear animal testing from all stages of product development. A company's ingredient suppliers and/or manufacturers must make the same pledge. The result is a product guaranteed to be 100% free of new animal testing.
We’re all responsible for protecting the natural world. Part of that means prioritizing animal welfare. That’s why all of Reed + Gwen’s beauty products and formulations are free of animal products and byproducts, never tested on animals, and 100% vegan.
1% For The Planet
Created in 2002 by the founder of Patagonia, Yvon Chouinard, 1% for the Planet is a global organization that connects sustainably minded businesses like Reed + Gwen (and our parent company Avocado Green Brands) to environmental nonprofits. As members, we donate 1 percent of our corporate revenues to verified nonprofit organizations working to protect, conserve, and stand up for our Earth. To date, 1% for the Planet has given $250 million to approved environmental groups.
