Our Avocado Green Mattress complies with 16 CFR 1633 — the annual, third-party lab testing and certification required by law for Resistance of a Mattress to a Large Open Flame — without the use of any chemical flame retardants, chemical dips, synthetic "fire socks," or synthetic and/or non-woven flame retardant systems of any kind. We only use GOTS-certified organic wool and GOTS-certified organic cotton, which are also STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified.

Because an Avocado Vegan Mattress does not contain wool, it uses a natural graphite powder to ensure annual compliance with 16 CFR 1633. Test results and certifications are posted below.

Our Avocado Green Mattress also complies with 16 CFR 1632. The test measures the ignition resistance of a mattress or mattress pad by exposing the surface to lighted cigarettes in a draft-protected environment.
