Superior Standards

Anyone can claim their personal care products are healthy, non-toxic, cruelty-free, and socially and environmentally responsible. Our integrative wellness rituals are all of those things. But don’t take our word for it. We’ve gone through the process of obtaining verified, trusted industry certifications that prove our products are exactly what we say they are.

At Avocado, our goal is to be a positive force. We’re doing this by providing our customers with thoughtfully curated, potent hair, skin, and body regimens that make you feel great while showing other brands it’s possible to produce quality products without harming the environment. Transparency is vital to that commitment — and hugely important to us. That’s why we’ll always back up our beauty and wellness rituals with certifications you can trust.

USDA Certified Biobased® — Made from Plants

Biobased Products are derived from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine, and forestry materials. They provide an alternative to conventional petroleum-derived products. So, when we say our products are plant-based, it means simply that plants are the primary biobased resource we use to make them. We have a full ingredient glossary that helps explain the terms we use.

Climate Neutral Certified

As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren't enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That's why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis.

The Leaping Bunny Standard provides the best assurance that products are free of animal testing; it’s a voluntary pledge that cosmetic, personal care, and/or household product companies based in the US or Canada make to clear animal testing from all stages of product development. A company's ingredient suppliers and/or manufacturers must make the same pledge. The result is a product guaranteed to be 100% free of new animal testing.

We’re all responsible for protecting the natural world. Part of that means prioritizing animal welfare. That’s why all of our skin + body products and formulations are free of animal products and byproducts, never tested on animals, and 100% vegan.

To date, 1% for the Planet has given $250 million to approved environmental groups.

Certified B Corps are businesses that are forces for good — putting the same level of importance on social and environmental responsibility as their bottom line. As a proud B Corp member, we balance profit with purpose, meeting high standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and legal accountability.
