Mid-Century Modern Desk Assembly Instructions

We craft our Mid-Century Modern Desk in our FSC® (C156318) certified Los Angeles woodshop from sustainable, solid walnut or maple wood. Step 1, Unbox

First, unbox your Avocado Mid-Century Modern Desk. In the box you’ll find:

Desk Body (preassembled)

4 Desk Legs

2 Leg Bases

12 Screws

1 Allen Wrench

Step 2, Attach Legs to Base Pieces

Place one leg base on its side, with the long side facing up. Insert one desk leg into the pre-drilled circular nook on the right side of the leg base. Insert a screw into the pre-drilled hole on the opposite side of the base. Tighten with the Allen wrench to secure the leg in place. Repeat this process on the left side.

Once you’ve attached both legs to one leg base, repeat this process for the second leg base and the remaining two legs.

Step 3, Attach Leg Bases to the Desk

Place the desk on the floor top side down. The bottom of the desk, with four screw holes on the left and right sides, should be facing up.

Align one of the bases and attached legs (legs should be angled outward) with the four screw holes on the bottom of the desk. Insert a screw into the top holes on the left and right sides. Tighten it with the Allen wrench. Repeat for the remaining two holes.

Once the base is securely attached, repeat on the remaining side.

Step 4, Turn the Desk Upright

Once you’ve tightly fastened the leg bases on each side, grab a partner and flip the desk over so it’s right side up, standing on the legs. Move the desk to its final position.

Step 5, Try it Out!

Place a chair in front of your desk, have a seat, and test out the drawers. Don’t forget to recycle the packaging materials!
