MADE SAFE® and EWG Verified® screen against carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, and reproductive toxins. GREENGUARD Gold certifies compliance with airborne chemical emission limits for rooms where infants sleep.
Each Avocado Organic Crib Mattress holds every one of these certifications simultaneously. In 2024, we published full PFAS test results — 320 substances screened at parts-per-billion sensitivity across our core materials, including our crib mattress. No detectable amounts were found. Our crib mattresses are designed without a built-in waterproof layer — because fewer processed materials between a sleeping infant and the certified organic surface underneath is a better answer than convenience. For waterproof protection, we offer a separate GOTS-certified organic crib mattress protector, designed to be removed, washed, and replaced independently so the organic sleep surface beneath it remains uncompromised.
