Every Avocado mattress is hand-stitched along the perimeter, with double-stitched, taped edges, and finished with heavy-duty upholstered handles. The seams are built to hold up across years of regular use — not to look sharp in a product photo and soften over time.
The seams are one part of the construction story. The other is needle-tufting. Every Avocado organic mattress is needle-tufted by hand at our Fullerton, California, manufacturing facility — a traditional bedmaker's technique that secures the comfort layers together with fabric ribbons capped with soft wool rosettes, without the use of chemical adhesives. This keeps the layers bonded and properly aligned through the full life of the mattress, which is why we can back our mattresses with warranties of up to 25 years.
Both the stitching and the tufting are done by hand. That level of handwork takes longer and costs more than automated alternatives — and it is what the durability claim is actually built on.
Our mattresses are backed by warranties of up to 25 years.
