At 7.5" tall, this mattress is designed to meet standard height requirements for bunk beds, trundle beds, and kids' bed frames — without sacrificing certified organic material standards. Built with an organic latex layer and individually wrapped coils — organic cotton, organic wool, no polyurethane foam, chemical flame retardants, or fiberglass.
Holds seven certifications: GOTS, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I, EWG Verified®, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, UL Formaldehyde-Free, and the Good Housekeeping Seal. OEKO-TEX certification applies to the entire mattress — every component, not just the cover.

No Built-In Waterproof Layer — By Design
The Eco Organic Kids Mattress does not include a built-in waterproof coating. That's a deliberate material decision: fewer processed materials between a sleeping body and the certified organic surface underneath.
For waterproof protection, we recommend pairing with a GOTS-certified organic mattress protector — removable and washable — to keep the certified organic sleep surface beneath it uncompromised.
Meets U.S. Safety Standard 16 CFR 1241
The Avocado Eco Organic Kids Mattress has been independently tested and meets U.S. safety standard 16 CFR 1241 (which incorporates ASTM F2933).
PFAS Testing
The Avocado Eco Organic Kids Mattress was included in our comprehensive PFAS screening — 320 substances tested at parts-per-billion sensitivity via LC/MS/MS and GC-MS. No detectable amounts were found. Full results are published in our Help Center.
A Note on Sizing
Every Avocado mattress is handmade in California, using the same quantity of natural and organic materials appropriate for each mattress size. As such, subtle size variations may occur, as is characteristic of any handmade product.
Want to measure yours? Our toppers have curves, so use tailor's tape to get an accurate measurement. It's what our seamstresses use when crafting your topper. A standard tape measure is meant for rigid surfaces.
